Change is coming...

..but is it the kind you were expecting?
-Obama has released details about his stimulus package and it seems the majority of it will be tax cuts for the middle class and small businesses. While this may be a tactic to win over conservatives and Republicans, it is one that works. Too bad that the stimulus also includes too many handouts.
-The Democratic party, who chanted "Let every vote count" after the 2000 election, have apparently showed their true colors in Minnesota. Chuck Schumer and the Senate Dems have amended their mantra to "Let every vote for the Democrat count".
-In Illinois, the president=elect has left, but Blagojevich has dug in his heals. I get the feeling that he has some more surprises up his sleeves. If he goes down he is taking a whole lot of people with him. The Emmanuel connection keeps getting swept under the rug.
-New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson feels he couldn't survive a confirmation hearing for commerce secretary. Hmmmm. If your innocent you should be able to defend your actions. Could we see another Blagojevich on the horizon?
-Caroline Kennedy seems to be her own worst enemy. And that other Clinton's name keeps popping up, now as a "interim' Senator.
2009 is looking less like "Change" and more like "Change the players". Politics as usual. But now we get to enjoy the show.
