bipartisan adj. representing , characterized by, or including members from two parties or factions.
The bloated pork filled "stimulus" package passed the house of representatives with absolutely NO Republican support. The Republicans and some intelligent Democrats, led a BIPARTISAN effort to defeat it.
Speaker Pelosi seems to be trying to re-write the dictionary again. Nobody is buying her new definition of bipartisanship so she is trying to claim she is a "non-partisan" leader.
nonpartisan adj. 1.not partisan; objective. 2.not supporting, controlled by, or affiliated with any of the established political parties. -n. 3. a person who is non-partisan.
And again, she is incorrect.
After eight years of President Bush's mangled syntax being used by the media and late night talk show hosts to lampoon him, I would like to see the plain stupidity of our Speaker of the House just simply pointed out in the mainstream press and not just by conservative talk show hosts.
I suppose she has stopped claiming to be an expert on Catholic Church doctrine. Apparently she didn't know that the Church stands firm that life begins at conception. According to her "the church isn't really clear when life begins." I hope she consulted her priest for a basic lesson on the sanctity of life. She must have slept through John Paul II's papacy.
She likes to add to the bible too. She said "Taking care of Mother earth is in the bible". Mother earth? We seriously need to drug test this woman. She IS from California.
The day Nancy Pelosi was sworn in as speaker she said "America wants to be governed from the middle." The middle of what? Her leftist wish list?
I can't think of a Speaker of the House who has miss used authority, showed blatant partisan bias, and trampled over the constitution more than Pelosi. She makes me wish Tip O'Neill would climb out of his grave and really drop an anvil on her head. (In case you missed her inaugural comment, she said "as soon as George Bush left office I felt like an anvil was lifted off my head").
Speakers have been brought down by extra-marital affairs, unethical book deals and death. Nancy needs to be removed for her lack of qualifications. A brain!

"Yes We Can" is becoming "No We Can't"
Noon tomorrow will mark the first week of the Obama administration and in that short time we are seeing the true colors of our new president, and they were all painted vividly for you by the Republicans during the campaign.
President Obama reneged on his pledge that the economy and jobs were his first priority by making the closing of the prison at Guantanamo his first priority. Even admitting that the decision of what to do with the prisoners has not been thought out yet.
And this will help the economy in what way?
His second action was to lift the ban on federal funding of information and access to abortions in other countries.
How many jobs will this create?
No sooner had the ink dried on the presidential orders then the administration and Democrat party officials began the chorus of "this is not a guarantee fix for the economy" in regard to their bloated 'stimulus' pork package.
Day six is here and the new president has allowed 13 states to raise their emission standards. And he was going to be the salvation of the big three automakers?
Nancy Pelosi is now tauting the need for federal funding for birth control. Saying that it will help the economy by taking the drain off of the states. I do find it odd that while in most countries you can identify the poor by their emaciated frames and tattered clothes. In this country we have a health issue with our poor. They are too fat. If they can afford fast food they should be able to afford condoms. Perhaps the drain on the system that results from a lack of birth control can be traced to the Pelosi family. One Nancy costs the United States more money than all the people receiving state aid in Michigan. And I am being modest on that number.
The President has repeatedly been telling the Republicans to stop listening to Rush Limbaugh. If President Obama listened to Rush, he would know the Republicans aren't. Perhaps President Obama needs to stop listening to Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and the liberal media.
Speaking of the liberal media. Look how fast they have turned on their messiah. How dare he not allow them 24 hour access to their new president! They were shocked to be left out of his re-swearing in. (Did he have a tele-prompter to help him recite the oath that time?)
I do hope the Republicans will use the opportunity that is being handed to them to point out the differences in their stimulus bills. Democrat spending that "won't necessarily fix the economy" or the Republican tax cuts that will as proven by history. Perhaps the Republican leadership needs to follow up the Democrat's pessimism by borrowing a line from the opposition. When it comes to a fiscal fix, 'Yes WE can!'

W: The Legacy
On this last evening under the leadership of George W. Bush I would like to pay tribute to the man who kept the promises he made and steered the ship of state through storms unimaginable.
Eight years ago, when he came into office after a bitter election, President Bush promised to build bipartisanship. He immediately asked Senator Ted Kennedy to help him draft the "No Child Left Behind" program. When they finished, Uncle Teddy smiled for the cameras and shook the President's hand. No sooner had the ink dried than Uncle Teddy whined that he didn't agree with everything in the program. President Bush should have taken this as a clear definition of how the opposition works. It's only bipartisan if they get everything they want and you agree with them.
The President campaigned as a 'compassionate conservative' and thus introduced his faith based initiatives. Improving and helping where we are known to have results. He stood for the defense of life and the preservation of it. Under his direction the United States has led the world in saving lives in Africa in combating AIDS and famine. But you don't read about this in the mainstream press. He even stood for the rights of illegal aliens to obtain the American dream. Much to the chagrin of some in his own party.
Since 9/11 President Bush has committed our defense to keeping us safe from terror and to spread democracy where tyranny breeds hatred and extremism. Mission accomplished!
George W. Bush is not a man who seeks to have his words engraved on granite edifices. He has never even tried to compare himself to Teddy Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan, or even his father. He has never tried to put himself on a pedestal as someone of higher quality than the people he governed. Nor would he let anyone else to do so. His legacy will be the tough choices he made and doing what was right over what was popular. When todays leftwing media pundits are dead and gone and we are free to judge President Bush by his actions without the blurring of their hatred spewing editorializing, we will confirm that we were privileged to have him as our Commander-in-Chief.
God bless you Mr. President. Get some rest. And may you live long enough to see the appreciation of the ENTIRE nation.

Obama leading with his finger in the wind
President-elect Obama has given us a glimpse of his Clintonian style of leadership. A stark contrast to the out-going President Bush's belief in 'What is right over what is popular'.
Obama's team announced that he will sign an executive order to close the prison on Guantanamo. This, as we recall, was a campaign cry of the left, who believed that those same terrorist who wanted to mass murder Americans, should have all the rights afforded to law abiding Americans. President Bush, upon taking the advice of CIA and military leaders, chose to keep these enemy's of the free world off of our soil. Yesterday President Bush pointed out that those same countries who wanted Gitmo closed, refused to take the prisoners to their own countries. I would like to know where Mr. Obama plans to send them?
We now know that Mr. Obama will not allow torturing of prisoners to gain valuable information. He believes that these murderers should be able to use the legal system to skirt the law. He also does not support the death penalty and would rather these people be tried by an international court.
This may prove to be the stick that knocks "The One" off of his towering pedestal. And he may take the liberal media with him.
Suppose that sometime in the future we are attacked again. Attacked by 21st century Muslim extremists with a dream team of ACLU lawyers. Using the "I was a victim of Gitmo so what choice did I have" defense. The lawyer in the White House would hardly disagree.
Any attacks in the future will bring up the questions "Could we have stopped it through interrogations?" and "Did we let one of the operatives get off on a legal technicality?".
President-elect Obama should not rush to a popular leftist judgement. Waiting until he has all access to information and a plan for what to do with the prisoners would be the right course for Gitmo. Instead he is using his internal polling to win over the far left. Just as choosing Rick Warren to speak at his inaugural is for the evangelicals. There is no reason other than to pacify a select group.
I hope President Bush leaves his big stick for Obama. The one that Theodore Roosevelt carried. The war on terror is a war for control of fear. Whether we fear the terrorist or the terrorist fear us more, determines who is winning.

Change is coming...
..but is it the kind you were expecting?
-Obama has released details about his stimulus package and it seems the majority of it will be tax cuts for the middle class and small businesses. While this may be a tactic to win over conservatives and Republicans, it is one that works. Too bad that the stimulus also includes too many handouts.
-The Democratic party, who chanted "Let every vote count" after the 2000 election, have apparently showed their true colors in Minnesota. Chuck Schumer and the Senate Dems have amended their mantra to "Let every vote for the Democrat count".
-In Illinois, the president=elect has left, but Blagojevich has dug in his heals. I get the feeling that he has some more surprises up his sleeves. If he goes down he is taking a whole lot of people with him. The Emmanuel connection keeps getting swept under the rug.
-New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson feels he couldn't survive a confirmation hearing for commerce secretary. Hmmmm. If your innocent you should be able to defend your actions. Could we see another Blagojevich on the horizon?
-Caroline Kennedy seems to be her own worst enemy. And that other Clinton's name keeps popping up, now as a "interim' Senator.
2009 is looking less like "Change" and more like "Change the players". Politics as usual. But now we get to enjoy the show.
