No Surprises After 100 Days

What have we learned about Obama in his first 100 days in office? He is a far left liberal who is against capitalism and a free market economy. Exactly as he was pointed out by conservatives in the last election.
"Spreading the wealth" was what he told Joe the plumber he wanted to do. Then he denied it. But boy has he done it!

The Democrat party controlled federal government and the UAW will now control G.M. and Chrysler. Weren't these the same people who demanded the high pay and dream benefits for assembly workers and environmental extreme demands from the car makers that put theses companies in the shape they are in?

The President who wanted the two parties to work together sat by as Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid locked Republicans out of negotiations.

Being elected with a promise of "an ethical administration", Obama seems to have totally lied about this one, filling his cabinet with tax cheats, lobbyists and campaign donors.

The eloquent speaker who sent goosebumps up Chris Mathews leg can't seem to even greet the press corps without the use of a teleprompter. Part of being an eloquent speaker is knowing what to say. Not just reading your lines. His eloquence, like the Greek columns in Denver, was a pretty facade used to sell Obama.

To quote the President and his economic team; "It's gonna get worse before it gets better." So much for optimism from this administration. But we can use that same phrase when it comes to the Republican party. Much like the mess I make in the process of cleaning the house, it helps to separate the trash from the necessities. The trash gets thrown out. Hopefully Arlen Specter takes a few other fellow senators who have used GOP money to push their Dem agendas. In 2010 the party will be more clearly defined. And it's my opinion that after two years of the Obama dictatorship, a clear opposition will be the successful victor of the next elections. Specter was one of a very small group of Republicans who gave Obama "bi-partisan support. (Even though a larger group of Democrats defected their party to form a bi-partisan opposition).

After 100 days we find the nation pretty close to where Conservatives warned us we would be. We find a President who doesn't seem nearly as brilliant as his campaign team painted him. We find a Republican party weeding out the very people responsible for losses in 2006 and 2008. Specter didn't leave because the party changed, he left because he wouldn't be re-elected. The opportunists of the party who abandon principals and the constitution in favor of popularity and pork, will be expunged. The message of the Republican party will be clear in the coming months. And it's that message that will pave the road to overturning congress in 2010.

A Congress of Idiots!

Our congress is getting ready to vote on a bill that would tax Internet purchases. Too bad our members of congress seem to think they are above the constitution. Or they have just never bothered to read it, much like the bills they pass.

Article I Section 9 clearly states:
"No Tax or Duty shall be laid on Articles exported from any State."

I guess since Obama wasn't around to add his two cents when the constitution was written, we can just discard it for the sake of 'change'.

NAPOLITANO MUST GO!

The Department of Homeland Security was developed as an organization to bring together, manage and open lines of communication of all U.S. government and law enforcement agencies to strengthen the security of the nation against our enemies. Napolitano, in her short tenure as head, has politicized, weakened and shirked it's responsibility.

Napolitano's recent attack on conservatives and veterans as "right-wing extremists" (she has since made a very weak recant when it came to veterans) turns the department into a political tool of the Obama administration. Yesterday's peaceful protests across the country by thousands of rallies of thousands of people, was a great example of conservatives practicing their first amendment rights. In contrast to the left-wing protesters who have attacked WTO meetings, smashed windows at recruiting centers, thrown animal feces at PETA organized protests, used tear gas, and plotted to destroy trash incinerators. Where was Ms. Napolitano's warnings against the proven terrorist acts of the left-wing extremists? Even President Bush's appointee's never used this opportunity. The job of the Department is to keep the nation secure, not divided and afraid of each other.

Napolitano has recently announced the creation of a "Border Czar" to bring together all sources of law enforcement and government agencies to secure the borders. Excuse me, but isn't that the job of the head of Homeland Security?

Here's a suggestion to President Obama. Eliminate Homeland Security and turn it back over to the Department of Defense. Since he wants to bring our troops home from Iraq and there are no jobs for them here, they can be stationed at our southern borders and patrol against Mexicans coming here and taking the now sought after jobs.

Napolitano has turned the Department of Homeland Security to one of INSECURITY. She has already passed the border buck to her 'CZAR'. She has embarrassingly displayed her lack of leadership and communication skills. This cabinet secretary must GO! Of course, when you have a Treasury Secretary who doesn't know how to use Turbo Tax, why should we think the Homeland Security Secretary should know how to keep us secure?

It's About Energy Stupid!

As I lay awake trying to solve the world's economic woes I found myself falling for the distractions created by the Democratic party. The latest one being the false impression that people stopped buying SUV's because they wanted environmentally friendly cars. What a load of crap!

SUV's were so popular because of safety and space. Soccer and hockey mom's could cart half the team to practice and not have to worry about being crushed in a roll over accident. It wasn't until the cost of filling the tank went up that sales of the vehicles went down. Unfortunately, by the time the gas prices went down the housing market and wall street crashed. Forcing everyone to drive cars that require less gas will mean less gas stations will be needed. So much for creating jobs.

Now lets go to the housing market. Millions of low income homeowners achieved their loans through questionable practices of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. They were high risk customers to begin with. Add the increasing home heating costs (the housing markets collapse began in the low-income northern Midwest) and increasing auto fuel costs. They didn't have a chance. And the Federal Reserve's answer was to lower interest rates. This brought on board those homeowners who kept refinancing to get a better rate, but were spending the savings on increased energy and fuel bills.

Businesses also had to adjust to the increasing cost of energy. From operations costs, to shipping and receiving costs, to the costs of paying employees a wage that would be more than just to cover the drive to work. It didn't help when the Pelosi congress voted a huge jump in the minimum wage. States that increased taxes at this time just added to the job losses.

The Obama administration wants to create windmills and solar panels to fix the energy crisis and create jobs. Once they are up and running, how many jobs will it take to turn a windmill? The only future job I see in demand is the person who scrapes dead bugs and birds off the windmill blades and solar panels.

Instead of bankrupting the treasury to hand out checks to big businesses and banks, the goal of our government should be to generate commerce. To do that you need to put people to work. When President Obama starts bringing hundreds of thousands of members of the military home, they are going to want jobs. Where does he think they are going to work with unemployment growing by leaps and bounds? Again, the answer is ENERGY.

This is where the Republicans need to get on message. Resurrect "Drill here. Drill now!". The only business the U.S. should be nationalizing is energy. The U.S. needs to not only be energy self sufficient, it needs to make money exporting energy for profit. No more bowing down to Saudi Kings. We need to go after their market. We need to increase our oil refining and production capacity. We won't have to spend money and lives protecting their 'black gold' when we have our own. We also need to convert our power grids to increased nuclear power. An increased dependency on nuclear energy would allow more of our oil and coal to be exported for profit.

To begin the job creation, we turn over the construction, security and operations of new refineries, oil rigs, nuclear power and clean coal production plants to the military. Guarantee jobs for service personnel who return from active duty. Recruit security and building experts into military service. Employ out of work and under employed former military persons. And the new construction should be built as anti-terrorism fortresses. Because they will be targets. This plan would free up civilian jobs and create a working consumer base. They would spend money. And lowering fuel costs would put money back into the pockets of everyone. Export profits would pay back the money used to create this energy program.

Meanwhile we let the private sector build the windmills and solar panels. Make it a choice, not a mandate. If there is such a demand for "Green Energy" then they will do just fine on their own because that's how capitalism works. Personally, I hate the sight of those giant windmills cluttering up the pristine countryside as a reminder of jobs lost.

OBAMA: The Musical -it's been done.

The rise of Barack Obama is hailed by the liberal media as a unique rise to power of the underprivileged. The man of the people, beloved by his fellow country men. The working man triumphs over the aristocracy. Unique? Change the name from Obama to Evita and you have a thirty year old musical that mirrors today's events.

"I came from the people, they need to adore me, so Christian Dior me." The community organizer from Chicago is not very different from the actress activist who vowed to lift up the masses from the lower class. She organized a relief concert for earthquake victims and secured government funding to rebuild the neighborhoods.
Both use/used the image of the common man/woman breaking the glass ceiling by wrapping themselves in designer duds and hob-nobbing with the elite.

"The actress hasn't learned the line you'd like to hear". Both Obama and Evita use/used anti-government and anti-capitalism to inflame the masses. While Eve Peron got her lines from a script, Obama gets his from the teleprompter.

"And the money kept rolling out in all directions." The Peron's depleted the Argentine treasury by literally handing out cash and prizes with lotteries and give aways. Playing Robin Hood by buying the support of the lower class. Obama has initiated the largest treasury give away ever. States and organizations have to apply for "stimulus funding". A lottery.

"Let's hear it for the Rainbow Tour, it's been an incredible success". Evita's handlers hailed her European tour as a success even before it was finished. As a trip used to improve the image of the Perones (And deposit a few million into secret bank accounts) it proved to crack the facade of the actress and her dictator husband. The only world leader to show her adulation was fellow dictator Francisco Franco. While accomplishing little, the trip was hailed in the state run press of Buenos Aries as a triumph. Sound familiar?

One can only wonder what other lyrics from the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical will find their way into the Obama saga. Will Hillary be singing "Another suitcase in another Hall"? Will Geithner hear "Goodnight and Thank You"? While Obama is "High Flying, Adored" at the moment, will he be writing a swansong of "Don't Cry for Me" in four years time?

This entry was too much fun to write and has prompted me to listen to the Evita soundtrack once again. For a laugh of your own, get a hold of it and listen for yourself. Just substitute OBAMA for EVITA.

Time for a humor break...

It seems when members of the media recently called in to a White House teleconference with Hillary Clinton, they were surprised to reach a phone sex line. The White House promised the mix-up would never happen again.

On a more serious note. Bill Clinton, when recently calling a phone sex line, was surprised to reach Hillary Clinton.
The former president will be recuperating at his home in Chappaqua.
