The Messiah is Coming!

Are you ready? He is coming. The world has been praying for his arrival.
No, not that one, the Obamassiah.
Change is already in the air. This week the Obamassiah has announced he will release his team's report exonerating them from any contact with the evil Blogojevich. And the press has breathed a sigh of relief. The apostle Hillary has announced that she has raised enough funds to pay herself back for campaign debts and now she will work toward paying everyone else back.
Putting politics above religion, the Obamassiah has chosen Rick Warren to give the blessing at his coronation. This will be the second time he prays with Warren. The first time was with him and John McCain. Rev. Wright would have been there but he was run over by a bus.
Once again a Democratic President has chosen school of choice as a better alternative to our public school system. It's only good enough for the sheep but the shepherd gets Sidwell Friends private school.
Change is coming.
Hail the bloggers. Obama has removed his CIA chief of choice, John Brennan, from the running because of leftist bloggers who apparently don't like his CIA connections. If the bloggers turn on Obama, will he resign?
Joe Biden has been chosen by the Obamassiah to expand the middle class. I suppose he will be in charge of punishing the wealthy by taxing them into submission.
Change is coming.
We stand at the door of history about to inaugurate a man who will be the first half african-american to take the oath of office. People are already proposing statues, naming streets and schools after him. One city has even proposed a holiday in his honor. Unfortunately, nobody can name anything he has accomplished other than getting elected Senator and now President.
Change is coming. The idol will be placed on the great white pedestal. The press is no longer needed as the Obamassiah will have a staff to write the news. The world will now love us as we have helped them elect their chosen one. Peace will reign. As the sun comes up on the Obama administration, American cars will fly off the lots. The stock market will soar. The lion will lie down with the lamb.
As the kool-aid drinking Obamamaniacs prepare to lay palm leave down on Pennsylvania avenue, I choose to lay straw in the manger and ponder the arrival of the real massiah. As those in this nation place all faith in one man, I choose to have faith in humanity.

New Store Hours

The big 3 are shutting down for a month. While this may make the media chirp that the sky is falling, this is going to be something that will set precedent among retailers in the new year.
The need for a 24/7 business, which seems to have put pennies-more-profit over everything else, is coming to an end. It stretched payroll and operating costs. I am going to make a bold prediction but it is one I have made for years. The seven day business week is on it's way out. Retailers, will be feeling massive losses this Christmas. Those who are around to try to survive will find they can make the same amount while spending less by reducing their hours. Remember the 24 hour Kinko's? That disappeared. Do you really need copies at 3 a.m.? Tuesdays may become quiet time at the mall. They are traditionally the slowest sales day of the week. Extended Sunday hours will disappear. Staying open on holidays will become a thing of the past. The Internet will suffice when it comes to late and holiday hours.
The long term effect will be the marriage of in-store shopping and Internet shopping. This will be good for both as the time has come for the two to stop competing with each other.
Every business needs to take some time off. Slow down it's production. Get a grip on its supply to match the demand. "Give the lady what she wants" may have worked in Marshall Field's day, but it's almost 2009 and the lady won't be able to get anything if she is out of work and the store is out of business.

A Den of Theives

Blagojevich is probably going to prison, just like so many of his predecessors. Must be something in the air in Illinois. Perhaps the precedent set by Abraham Lincoln is just too hard to live up to. And now we are set to inaugurate a President who comes from a cesspool of Chicago thugs. Obama has tried to distance himself from Blago by saying they were never close. I hear a bus starting to roll.

David Axelrod, Obama's chief advisor, is on record as saying that Obama had several conversations with Blago regarding his replacement. Obama said he never spoke with the governor. Somehow I would think someone like Obama, who seems to have called everybody personally after his election, would have talked to Blago, the guy responsible for appointing his successor. Didn't Obama care who would take his seat?

Rahm Emanuel, the Clintonista who took Blago's seat in the house when he was elected Governor, is now going to be Obama's chief of staff. How much did he pay for Blago's endorsement. Of course he also had the Daley machine using their strong arm tactics to win him the seat. Some of those thugs that helped him get elected are now sitting in a prison cell.

Tony Resko. You remember him. He is currently serving time for some similar shenanigans as his buddy Blago. Big surprise. Tony served on Obama's Senate campaign's finance committee. He also was the slumlord who secured government money with the help of Obama. He raised money for Emanuel's and Blago's campaigns too.

Somehow, this den of thieves, who seem to have more than just crossed path's, have all distanced themselves from each other when one gets caught. One by one they fall. If we are to believe the media, Obama is just an innocent guy who happened to be in the same circles as these thugs. I judge the man by the company he keeps. Resko, Blagojevich, Wright, Ayers.

Blagojevich was hailed as a bright young honest leader who was elected to change Illinois. Let's hope Obama isn't destined to follow the same charted path.

We Need a Non-Speaker of he House.

As the CEO's of the big 3 automakers return to capitol hill we hear they are now requesting $34 billion dollars. What caused this increase from the original $25 billion they originally requested? Nancy Pelosi.
After their first visit, the executives of GM, Chrysler and Ford were criticized by Nancy (I want a bigger Speaker's plane) Pelosi. The bellowing of the bellicose speaker that they should get rid of the corporate jets before congress would give them a loan was heard and received. They dumped the jets and drove back to Washington. All three CEO's will work for $1 a year. Cuts will be made. Big mouthed Nancy followed her aero-rant by saying congress must approve loans for the big 3 and that bankruptcy was NOT an option. This was heard loud and clear too. Nancy's loose lips will now cost the U.S. taxpayer an additional $9 billion, bringing the auto bailout to $34 billion. Gee, if she would have kept her mouth shut or just given them the $25 billion she would have saved the extra 9. Or is the $9 billion more to compensate for travel and bonuses?
Nancy has been in hot water before. She made up bible verses to give credence to her self-serving views on the environment. She claimed to be an expert on Catholic Church doctrine by saying "the Catholic Church really doesn't know when life begins" to try to gain support for her pro-abortion views. She just seems to make things up to suit her opinion. And she doesn't think before spewing out her venom.
After two years of Nancy and her Gladys Kravitz style of governing, we really appreciate the gentleman style of Speaker Hastart. Newt Gingrich may have voiced opinions, but at least he always got the facts right. And they respected the President. Pelosi has done nothing but complain and nag. She was supposed to be a giant step for woman. Unfortunately the step was backward. Perhaps that's why Obama is the President-elect and Hillary is HIS appointee.

Let Us Give Thanks.

On Thursday we will gather to give many thanks. As conservatives we may feel we have less to be grateful for then we have in several years. He are a few items to ponder.

Almost four hundred years ago a ship of pilgrims sailed to the new world, risking their lives for the freedom to worship. They endured the hardships of the ocean voyage, starvation, death, mutiny and loss of faith. Regardless of the hardships, they prayed and gave thanks for God's blessings. It makes today's hardships seem much more bearable when we think of what they endured.

The election is over. Obama IS the president-elect. The Democrats will control the House and Senate. We must give thanks for our conservative Supreme court. May they be healthy and wise.

With the economy in the shape it is in we can expect the survival of the fittest. Who will fare better? First off, that group of people who make over $250k or is it $175k or $40k? Whatever it is, I am sure that group is getting smaller and smaller. So either Obama is going to have to find the money for his socialist agenda elsewhere, or he is going to have to break his campaign promise. My guess is that the rest of us won't be seeing any tax cuts. But in a struggling and highly competitive society, the victors will be the ones who aren't waiting around for a government handout. We give thanks for our need to be self sufficient.

Most important this year, give thanks for all the blessings in your life. Even the sibling who voted for Obama. Though there is uncertainty all around you, always remember to give thanks for your freedom. Remember those who fight for it. And remember those who died for it. We live in the greatest nation in the world. For this we are truly thankful.

More Roads and Bridges to Nowhere

The President-elect has announced that he plans to put the American people back to work repairing roads and bridges. De javu! Wasn't this Bill Clinton's plan to create jobs back in 1993? Did the people who fixed the roads and bridges do such a crappy job that we are still picking up fallen bridges and have to take detours around road construction? Perhaps they are still working on them. I seem to recall that fixing roads and bridges was Jennifer Granholm's answer to putting Michigan back to work. With all of these people working on our nation's highways then why do we know that, come March, we will once again be dodging potholes? Perhaps they need to use something other than that plaster of Paris they call asphalt.

Whenever our elected officials come up with this oft repeated job creation plan I try to get a mental picture of an out of work 55 year old administrative assistant trying to drive a backhoe. Or a former car salesman filling a pothole. I do wish they would figure out how to create more than construction and road repair jobs. What good are new roads if we have no place to drive to? What good are new school buildings when the school districts are going bankrupt?

This so called new era of "Change" seems to be evolving into the past. It is the dawning of an era of "Rehash". While history does repeat itself, trying to replicate history most often ends in disaster. The "innovative and brilliant" Senator from Illinois seems to just be trying to bring back the euphoria he felt when Bill Clinton took office. He is repeating Clinton policies. And like Clinton, he is avoiding the tough stuff. "Quietly observing the auto bailout situation" means he hasn't a clue. His staff leaked out his idea to push the big 3 through a "rapid bankruptcy". This plan has already been considered and was shot down by the big 3 and congressional leaders. Perhaps the President-elect is too busy planning the largest and most expensive inaugural in history. I would think, and this is just my personal feelings, that if the country is in the horrible state that the Democrats have been saying it is, he would have a modest inaugural and go straight to work. Imagine if he was sworn in at noon and was at his desk working by 2. Imagine if all of the money being spent on inaugural balls, concerts, the parade, etc. was spent on paying heating bills for those out of work. Imagine an agenda for the first 100 hours instead of the first 100 days. THAT would be change. THAT would be innovative. THAT would be making history.

Obama's team is already trying to lower expectations and he hasn't even been sworn in yet. We've never actually seen Barak Obama accomplish anything. He hasn't had to. But he will now. Lets hope that the road he chooses to follow isn't the same one his Democratic predecessor took. Clinton took the road to road to moral decay. But at least we had some idea of where he was taking us and we packed accordingly.

In God We Should Trust

I am getting a little worried about the cult-like following of President-elect Barack Obama. Anytime you turn on the news you see an Obama fan gushing about how he is going to fix everything wrong in the world. I am quite disheartened that so many people are putting their sole faith in one man. Imagine if we had put "In George Washington We Trust" on all of our coins. Sounds silly, but it's the way we look today. "In Obama We Trust" seems to be the new U.S. mantra. Our new slogan is "Ask not what you can do for your country, but ask what your country can do for you." This highlight's the difference between John and Ted(he who anointed Obama)Kennedy.

Our nation is at a stalemate right now. We have been hit by a 'perfect storm'. A housing market knocked flat by too much government intervention in the loan industry. Cash strapped home owners stopped buying things like luxury items and cars. The government again intervened by mandating 'environmentally friendly' vehicles be produced by our already cash strapped car makers. The U.S. dollar was weakened by the continuing lowering of interest rates in an attempt to grow the shrinking economy. Add to this the growing deficit and you get where we are now. So how does Obama and more government spending get us out of this hole? Sorry to tell you this, but they can't. But this isn't a bad thing.
With all of his brilliance and experience, Herbert Hoover couldn't get the nation out of the depression. FDR, with his government programs and fireside chats, couldn't get the stock market to move again. World War II did it for them. Like Ronald Reagan in the 80's, World War II took us out of the national malaise of failure and put us back onto a road of faith. It seems whenever we have a long wave of economic recovery we forget who we are and what makes us different. The 'Greatest Generation' wasn't great because they waited for the government to bail them out. They sacrificed, served, and prayed. They were great because their spirit and drive kept the flame of freedom lit. They not only defeated tyranny, but they took what they learned on the battlefields and built a prosperous new economy at home.

Today we are at a crossroads. Do we lead or do we follow? We have to take the lead. If President-elect Obama is as smart as his worshipers praise him to be, he knows that he is merely the accompanist to the American chorus. He can play all he wants, but until we start singing, the show doesn't begin. We need a new generation of Thomas Edison's, Henry Ford's, Bill Gates'. We need to get rid of the environment in business of greed and class warfare and replace it with growth and opportunity. Successful corporations were built by people who worked their way up. Now we have corporations run by men who just hop from company to company collecting their millions in paychecks and pensions regardless of the shape they leave the business. We used to have people at the helm for their ideas and successes, not just their resume' of names and pay grades. When the CEO just 'doesn't get it' he or she needs to go. The standard needs to be higher for the top. The sad excuse that 'nobody would want the job unless they offered perks' is just a smokescreen for them to rob the place when they drive it into the ground. American business needs an era of humbling.

As we asses our situation and prepare to move forward we need to have courage and believe in ourselves again. Regardless of the stock market. Regardless of the job market. Regardless of who sits in the oval office. The answer to who and how we can get America moving again is on that valuable piece of paper that the government thinks we can't be trusted to spend. Perhaps that's why they are always trying to take it away from us.
(Thanks Darrell)

I Think They've Got It!

So the bailout is starting to turn into a loan with conditions. Good! After all of the criticism from the Democrats of the Bush administration for not handing the big 3 a $25 billion dollar bailout, they are now back-peddling and demanding some responsibility for our tax dollars. Once again the press is praising them for this. Senator Carl Levin is drafting a bill to loan the automakers money "as needed" and with the condition that they create a viable plan. Duh! While we all agree that something must be done, we have learned enough from history that throwing money at corporations doesn't guarantee it will save jobs or even the long term survival of the company. I don't hear any media praise for President Bush for NOT giving the Big 3 a Big check. And what would he have to lose? He could just hand it to them and go. If they fail anyway, he can say "Well, I did my part." But he didn't and he is leaving it up to the congress that will be held accountable in the 2010 election. Finally, after eight years, Bush learned how to play politics with the Democrats. His legacy will be his failure to understand that the Democrats can't be trusted. It's what did his Dad in.
Let's just hope that any aid that the automakers get will help them to rebuild their infrastructure and that the unions don't attempt to slurp it up. A little advice to the top auto brass as they go forward in their quest for government funds: Take off the Italian suits, fly commercial airlines and spend a little time on the showroom floor. Right now you look to all America like spoiled little rich kids who are crying because you are out of cookies. And you have the gall to claim hunger with crumbs on your faces and a broken cookie jar on the floor. If you can't, then it's time for you to turn the kitchen over to someone with a clue.

The First Annual 'Sit Down and Shut Up' Awards.

Since we are coming to the end of another year and facing the "change" of administration in Washington, I figured we could make a fun list of who we want to "stifle it" in 2009. Please add your choices in the comments section of this BLOG. This could be fun!

OPRAH WINFRY- Your anointed one has won the election. Could you please stop the Obama worship with every statement you make? Yes we know it's historic. We are happy that he is a role model for for black children. And we know he is one of your fellow limousine liberals, But SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP!

ROSIE O'DONNELL- We didn't like your talk show when you used it to push your views. We didn't like you on 'The View' (that's why they dumped you). And your BLOG is just gibberish. Now your going to try another show which I am sure will fail. It's time to SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP!

OSAMA BIN LADEN- Dead or alive, I am tired of this guys threats and opinions on our nation, our people, and our way of life. Osama, SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP!

Al GORE- Chicken little needs to get on his private jet and fly back to the estate. Your inconvenient 15 minutes of fame are long over Al. It still gets cold in the winter and hot in the summer. And Manhattan is still above water. So SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP!

JAMES CARVILLE- You backed Hillary and she lost. You didn't think Obama could get elected and he did. Stick to making jambalaya for Mary and SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP!

It's just a start, but if one of them slips into the abyss over the next couple of months I won't shed a tear. Perhaps next year we will have a statue to hand out.

How to Reduce the National Debt.

$700 billion questionable dollars has been added to the national debt. Then we can add the big three bailout which is coming in some form. Spending has gone so far out of control I don't even think there is a word for it. And just wait until President-elect Obama starts his spending spree of social programs. Everyone talks about debt reduction during elections. But when the election is over, it is only brought up by the bitter loser's who are looking for the next campaign issue. Meanwhile the U.S. dollar weakens.
So how do we reduce the debt without having to cripple the U.S. government, military and economy? I think I have come up with some ways of building revenue.
First we would need to create a Debt reduction czar. This person would be responsible for profit and only profit. This would be a volunteer position with no pay and no budget for salary. Qualified persons would have to prove fundraising capability, cost cutting, and image management. A perk might be a bonus for every trillion reduced. Here's a couple of ideas:
U.S. Treasury lottery. For each $10 ticket you purchase, you get the chance to win a billion dollars. I know I would buy a couple!
Replacing "Would you like $1 to go toward to presidential elections?" with "Would you like $2 to go toward reducing the national debt?" on your tax returns.
Legalizing Marijuana and taxing the heck out of it.
Paying our elected officials from National SURPLUS ONLY. If we don't have it, they don't get it.
Selling ad space on C-span. 'Senator Levin's filibuster is brought to you by DEPENDS.'
Instead of giving away the pens the president uses to sign bills and treaties, sell them on eBay.
Obama is very popular. Wire up the White House with web cams and charge to view the first family at home.
It wouldn't take much to turn the tide and see our national debt shrinking. This would make us stronger as a nation and leader of the free world. This would be change. And isn't that what the last election was all about?
Now if anyone is willing to wager on the national debt growing or shrinking over the next four years...

Hillary Clinton just Won't Go Away!

President-elect Obama met with Senator Hillary Clinton today. Sources are saying they discussed Obama's wish to have Hillary as his Secretary of State. Say What!?!

I have come to accept the fact that the American voters have chosen a man with next to no experience to lead this nation for the next four years. I had hoped that he would choose a cabinet of worthy men and women who would give us confidence in his management skills. The most important position he chooses will be his Secretary of State. The person who's diplomatic skills will be used to keep doors open, smooth over conflict, and build alliances. Hillary Clinton is one of the most polarizing politicians on the American stage. Her record of attacking her opponents (Obama for one), using others as a scapegoat (Newt Gingrich, the "vast right wing", her campaign staff ) and her long list of failed judgement, should be more then enough to disqualify her. But Obama seems to be considering her anyway. The message this sends to the American people is that President-elect Obama doesn't want the best and brightest for the job. He wants to repay Hillary for towing the party line for is election. Well Mr. Obama, if you want her, then you get what you deserve. If she fails, your lack of judgement is highlighted. If she succeeds, then she will be proving that she would have been the better choice in the '08 democratic primary.
After giving a lot of thought to a possible 'Secretary of State Clinton', I have come to view it as a win for our side. If one goes down, they both go down. The nasty battle of their primary may be played out all over again in a couple of years. And Hillary will be out of the Senate. Her replacement will merely be a appointee rather than an incumbent to run against. We can't rule out that Bill would be appointed to fill her seat. This could be quite amusing. Especially with Bill's questionable ethics when it comes to his foundation.
Hillary Clinton is like Michael Meyers in the Halloween movies. Just when you think she is dead, she pops up somewhere else and starts terrorizing us all over again. And like those movies, we may have thought they were also unrealistic, predictable, and tired, but darn it, they're just so much fun to watch!

Where's My Bailout?

Much like a winner of the lottery, the U.S. Treasury is getting an introduction to a lot of long lost friends and family who are down on their luck. I just thought I would throw my name into the mix on the odd chance that a bailout check lands my way.
The President, his Treasury secretary, and the members of congress put on a huge dog and pony show to pass a $700 billion dollar bailout package with no specifics as to where the money is to go. And that answer seems to change with the stock market roller coaster ride. Much like coasters, I am thinking the line outside the Treasure secretary's door looks very similar to one you might find at Cedar Pointe on it's highest volume summer day. 'You must be this broke to board this ride'. How amusing it must be to listen to the pleas of hardship. Mark Burnett could turn this into the next great reality show, "Gimmee Some Money!" The big three want $25 billion each. California wants $7 billion. Detroit wants $10 billion. (Greedy Detroit city council pigs want more than the state of California? Sent them to the slaughterhouse.) AIG wants another $10 billion on top of the $80 billion it has already borrowed. The list goes on and on as the line winds around a maze of arm rails.
So what do I need? Well $2,000 would put me completely into the black. But I have learned that these days, that isn't enough. For a measly $1 million of the bailout billions I would promise to pay off my debts and then contribute to the national economy. No golden parachute here. I would aid the auto industry by purchasing a couple of those earth friendly cars they are trying to sell. Then I would do my darndest to boost fourth quarter retail sales so we can all have a merry Christmas. I would also promise to help out the airline industry by personally flying to New York so I could invest some of my bailout into struggling Wall street stocks. Then it's off to California to spread a little of my money across Arnold's state. We could all benefit from a bailout for Joe6pack.
So Secretary Paulson, if your reading this, when you are passing out bailout checks, don't forget Joe6pack. Because it really doesn't matter what corporations, municipalities, states, etc. you try to save. If Joe6pack doesn't have a dime to spend keeping these organizations going, the line outside your office door is never going to end. And like AIG and stray cats that you feed, they will just keep coming back for more.

Phoney Funeral for a Friend

"The report of my death was an exaggeration" -Mark Twain 6/1/1897
I always enjoy the media speculation when the Democrats gain power in this country. We've seen it many times before. The Dems seize control of the White House and the media announces that the Republican party is dead. Of course when the shoe is on the other foot, the media begin their ritual of weeping and wailing in the streets. This time their claim that conservatism is dead is most laughable. Somehow they missed the boat that John McCain was a moderate Republican and that the Conservatives sat out this election. You would think that after their love affair with McCain as he took on the Bush administration they would have at least got to know him. But then, they didn't even get to know Obama before they got in bed with him. The term 'media whore' takes on a whole new meaning.
If they want to believe the Conservative movement, the Republican party and the Reagan revolution are dead, then let them. Then they can be witness to a resurrection.
The Conservatives rode in the side car to this election. We got on board late with the arrival of Sarah Palin. But it was the moderates that were driving. The crash involved the moderates who, while ignoring the loyal conservative base, played to the swing voters and moderate Democrats. The last dying gasp came from Rep. Chris Shays who seemed to plead with the Republican party to follow him to his grave. RIP.
Meanwhile, back at the GOP clubhouse, a battle for RNC leadership is going on between former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and GOPAC chairman and former Maryland Lt. Governor Michael Steele. Two conservatives.
When looking back at the past election and the 2006 election, one will note that it was moderate Republicans who lost their seats. Most campaign contributions came from conservative sources and went to conservative candidates. We have to ask ourselves, in regard to nominating McCain; "What were we thinking"? Perhaps we were convinced (by the media) that our only hope of a victory was with a moderate. Yet the only time McCain pulled ahead in the polls was when he announced Palin as his running mate. When the spotlight went back to McCain, he went down. One can only imagine how a Romny/Palin ticket would have fared.
We have another great opportunity to learn from our losses. While the media tries to bury us, we can hook up the life-support system to the moderates of our party. Our new party leadership has two years to gather the candidates who can take back capitol hill. When we are studying past mistakes, we also need to study the 1994 wins. And where we lost the ball...and the House and Senate. Let the Democrats feed at the trough and spill swill all over the floor for two years. All eyes are on them. When the media tries to find out what WE are up to we can just say 'sorry, we're dead'. Then they will be quite surprised when we roll away the stone and march out of the tomb.

Thank a Veteran Today

Today let us remember our Veterans by not only keeping them in our thoughts but by showing them our appreciation with our actions. Displaying our flag is the first step. The symbol of what so many have given so much to defend. We must also remember those in our daily life who served the cause of freedom. Say "Thank-you". Two simple words that mean so much. Their sacrifices often get over looked. Do an act of kindness by raking a neighboring Veteran's leaves. Bake them some cookies. Invite them over for a drink to their fellow vets. Celebrate the day with them.
Let us also remember the millions of Veterans we do not know. Many Veteran organizations need your help. Donations and volunteering to these organizations would give back so much. As we head into the holiday season, now is a good time to start planning on paying tribute to the men and women who are currently serving the cause of freedom and nation building. Tomorrow's Vets. In these hard economic times, remember that members of our military and their families are feeling the same crunch as the rest of us. Show your support for their loved one by visiting www.usocares.org and having a care package sent. Do it in place of gifts. Do it as a family or office group. Recently in Baghdad, in one of Saddam Hussein's old palaces, the largest ever re-enlistment ceremony was held. A sea of soldiers volunteering to extend their service to help the people of Iraq build democracy by giving humanitarian aid and teaching and training it's citizens. In Afghanistan they are building schools and hospitals and insuring the nation's future. All around the world, the men and women our nation's military are protecting the freedom of mankind. Show them you support them by sending them a token of your appreciation.
Lastly, remember our Veterans and our troops in your prayers. May God watch over them and keep they and their families safe. God Bless our Veterans, current military forces and those they love.

The Lexicon of our National Change.

Not only has our country gone into a new direction, but a new vocabulary is being born. Some words that may pop up into conversation over the next four years are as follows:

OBAMAGASM-adv. 1. A feeling of mental and physical ecstasy at the very mention of the name 'Obama'. 2. A reaction by the media to a new statement or speech given by Barack Obama.
'Chris Mathew's OBAMAGASM began as a tingling up his leg.'

OBAMASSIAH-n.1. The chosen one sent by God to lead. 2. A gift of divine intervention.
God so loved the world he sent the OBAMASSIAH to the masses.

OBAMANOMICS-n. The practice of initiating mass spending on special interest group's social programs while using rhetoric to reduce the national debt and government waste.

OBIDEN-v. 1 The act of confidently making misstatements. 2. putting one's left foot in one' mouth.
'The Senator made a clear OBIDEN when he said "Freedom of speech is not a constitutional right."'

BARAKATTACK-n. 1.The failure to disguise the inability to speak without a teleprompter. 2. Multiple use of gibberish and conjunction to hide ignorance.
'The President-elect gave a rousing speech but had a BARAKATTACK when forced to go off script.'

More to come. Feel free to add your own. I am sure that with such past presidential labels as Reaganomics, Clintonista's and Bushwacked, we are going to be adding many more words to our national vocabulary.

An Open Letter to the President-elect

Dear Mr. President-elect,
First of all let me congratulate you on your victory and the example you set as someone who has truly experienced the American dream. May your historic election be a beacon to a diversity of minds who may now aspire to lead our nation. As one of the over 57 million who voted against you, I can tell you that we respect the presidency and your victory. You will be president of all of us.

On January 20th the torch will pass not only from one party to another, but from one generation to another. Your success will determine what our generation has learned from those that came before us. Unlike the baby-boomers, we aren't a rebellious generation. We are more entrepreneurial. We are the Internet generation. A generation that learned a whole new way of communication. Keep that spirit of new thinking and our open highway of communication open. The supposed "Fairness Doctrine" that is continually put forward by your colleagues will only drive a new, more private way of communicating into the mainstream. Remember that business is driven by the want of the consumer, not the need to sell by the manufacturer. The auto industry should be testament to this. So keep our airwaves free of government intervention. You will win more hearts and minds this way.

As you choose your cabinet, be careful not to simply swing the pendulum back to the last Democrat administration. Bring in more bright young minds who have proven themselves in other aspects of our nation's industries. Resist the temptation to give positions of power as a payback for support. Jennifer Granholm brings very little support for your economic policies to come. Her track record as governor is abysmal. The message she sends about your new administration is one of constantly blaming the predecessor for the failures of the incumbent. It also shows what can happen when someone makes a very rapid rise to power. "The Peter Principle" is the perfect way to describe the Granholm administration. You could easily fall into this trap. Dump her and others like her when you are sworn in.

More substance please. Your vague rhetoric was fine on the campaign trail but when it comes to building consumer confidence and "Hope", it is just an empty vessel. Be frank and give details. This will show direction and leadership. We may not always agree with where you are taking us, but at least we will know you are taking us somewhere.

Finally, bring a style to the White House that is purely that of you and your family. Be yourselves. We have learned that America wants people that they can identify with. Not Kennedy clones. Leave the past in the past and set a fresh tone. Lead from your heart, not from your next campaign or for party expectations. Do what is right and not what is popular. The World depends on us for it.

Good Luck and GOD BLESS you as you prepare to assume the awesome responsibility that is the mantel of the presidency.

A look into the chystal ball.

I have gazed into my crystal ball to see what the first two years of the Obama administration will bring. (Alright, I told you we could have a little fun in our predicament and we're gonna start here.) I hope you will add your prediction's by clicking 'comment' below the posting.
JANUARY 20,2009: After using the word "Change" 146 times and "Hope" 211, President Obama announces his "rebuilding America" plan by creating a record number of government bailout programs for everything from the Retail industry to Hollywood studios. NBC will get several billion. The deficit clock will explode.
JANUARY 21, 2009: The biggest stock market drop in history.
FEBRUARY 2009: In his 'State of the Union' address, President Obama, avoiding the stagnant stock market, record low fourth quarter sales numbers and new job lows, talks about his poor Kenyan ancestors who survived by hunting with sticks and living in huts. His record high approval rating takes a dive. The Honeymoon is over.
MARCH 2009: In an attempt to "Bring the Nation together in Prayer", President Obama launches a week of prayer for 'hope and healing'. Controversy arises when Rev. Jeramiah Wright's invitation is rescinded by the White House after he calls it "restitution", causing him to call President Obama 'President Uncle Tom'.
JUNE 2009: After finally allowing his Harvard transcripts to be released, we find that the reason Obama's grades were hidden is because they were similar to Sen. McCain's Naval Academy grades. D's. Sub par to former President Bush's C average. Which prompt some critics to ask "Who's the idiot?"
AUGUST 2009: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, after blaming President Obama for her own miserable approval rating, is brought down in a scandal when it is revealed that her husband Paul and his Georgetown 'Wall Street Alliance" group were involved in insider trading and making huge sums of money from government bailouts.
SEPTEMBER 2009: President Obama becomes the hero of hurricane season as he jets off to the hurricane targets and addresses the nation from the eye of the storms to be shown giving hugs to storm victims.
NOVEMBER 2009: Hillary Clinton announces her plans to run for Governor of New York. She also launches a whisper campaign getting word out that she will, upon being sworn in, name Bill Clinton to replace her in the Senate.
MAY 2010: Obamagate! Disgraced former Governor of Illinois, Rod Blodgovich, launches his new book revealing the underbelly of Chicago politics. Old names like Tony Resko and Bill Ayers as well as Mayor Daly and Presidential Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel are tied into money laundering, election fraud and shady real estate dealings with government contracts. It's a best seller. Obama claims the media are unfairly attacking him.
AUGUST 2010: The big one automaker, GCF Motor company, announces it needs a fifth bailout after government mandated 'earth friendly' cars continue to sit in the lots as the new AMC (All Made in China) low cost cars are on back order due to high demand for the lower mileage vehicle.
NOVEMBER 2010: Rudy Guiliani is elected Governor of New York after Michael Bloomberg, the Independent, splits the Democrat vote with Hillary Clinton.

While these predictions are purely speculative, they are based on some fact that could help them to materialize. We can only hope for the best for this country, but we know from history that it is not always possible. The battle over covering for Obama or scooping FOX news will be tough for the leftstream media. The almighty dollar always wins. With FOX's continued high ratings and layoffs at NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN etc., you can bet they will know where their bread is buttered.
Other things NOT to expect are:
-An immediate pullout from Iraq. Obama will now be privileged to intelligence reports about the instability around the middle east (So THAT'S why we're in Iraq) and the prospect of bringing hundreds and thousands of men and women home to a miserable job and housing market. Look for the anti-war protesters to return.
-A bi-partisan attitude. Why would they listen to the minority? A Republican in the cabinet? If so, it will be another David Gergan type character with questionable credentials.
-A stable cabinet. With Rahm Emanual in charge, President-elect Obama shows he has no regard for executive experience. Emanual was an aide to Bill Clinton, an investment broker and a congressman. With no management leader in place, expect many cabinet comings and goings.

Only time will tell what will be. We learned from the Bush administration that it is the things you don't expect that will set tone and define the Obama Presidency. Lets hope that our worst days are behind us. But don't count on it.

Mapping out our Future

In assessing the road forward, we must look at the indicators of the "change" that the President-elect is bringing and size up those who will be "re-building" America.
The stock market reaction to Obama's victory was quite contradictory to picture of strength and hope of economic recovery painted by the media. That wind at Obama's back seems to have simply swirled around Grant park and never made it to Wall street. The worst reaction to an election on record. Keep an eye on the job market. If there is confidence in Obama's plans we should see at least a slight rise in available jobs. Of course we ask ourselves; why would a company hire anyone now when they can get a $3,000 credit from President Obama? They will need this to help offset the tax increases on business and mandatory full health care coverage.
The war (or should I say peace) in Iraq is doing very well. I will be interested to see if Obama lives up to his pledge to bring our troops home immediately. How fast will he abandon a winning cause to bring home hundreds of thousands of men and women who voted against him and who will be looking for jobs and home loans in a market that isn't providing either right now?
Remember where gas prices are right now. $2 a gallon. When the Dems go after the 'big oil' companies you can sure bet that will change. Of course they won't mind because higher gas prices will push their environmental extremists agenda. Anyone wondering why the auto industry is having such a hard time selling those little hybrids but not trucks? Because nobody really wants them. Any big three bailout is going to come at the price of forcing us to drive cars that we don't want to drive. Or buy!
I am trying to figure out how a congress with the lowest approval rating on record could pick up so many seats. As I said yesterday, I believe it is the national knee jerk reaction to the economy. This means that they are very vulnerable. Especially Nancy Pelosi. She is now target #1. Her accountability is to her liberal congressional seat. Obama is going to have to restrain himself from going too far left unless he wants to re-live the reaction to the first two years of the Clinton administration. These two mega-ego's will surely be going head to head. Our best bet is to be sure that Pelosi stays in her position as long as the Dems control congress. But we need to make sure that she remains damaged goods. Divide and conquer will work really well with Obama and Pelosi.
Teddy Kennedy is 'drafting' a national health care plan. This is scary! But worse is that he knows is time is running out on this planet and apparently he wants to leave this world as a full fledged socialist. No doubt his plan will be passed as he lies on his deathbed or as a memorial. I wouldn't be in too much of a hurry to meet my maker if I was Teddy. I am sure Mary Jo Kopechne will be there with the Lord as He passes judgement.
We can't forget the minor players on the national stage. Hillary Clinton is now stuck in the Senate. If she is smart she will take on New York Governor David Patterson in the next election. This would be her only chance should the Obama administration fail miserably. The lack of executive experience could be used as a reason. Never count the ruthless Hillary as out. And Bill can never stay out of the spotlight.
Joe Biden will always be good for a laugh...or gaff. No doubt the next four years will highlight his lack of brains and Obama's bad judgement in picking him.
So my friends, I hope the fog of the leftist media has cleared for you. You can see winnable battles are coming. The road ahead is not so intimidating. The special interest groups that helped get Obama elected are already calling for paybacks. The opposition is going to give us quite a bit of entertainment in the coming months. We get to sit back and take a breather for a while. As we have learned in the past, we may prefer to be the party in power, but it is much more fun playing offense then defense. Viva la Resistance!

The Summons at Sunrise.

The sun came up this morning. This tells me that God is still in heaven. So I asked Him:
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardship as the pathway to peace.
Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is,
not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
forever in the next.
Amen
(Thank-you, Lauren)
God will surely answer this prayer. The battle for the White House 2008 is over. Do we lay down our arms and surrender to the left, or do we simply retreat? George Washington's brilliance was his ability to effectively retreat, enabling him to keep his army together and under excruciating circumstances, keep the fight for freedom alive. Today is a day of Washingtonian retreat.
We look at the carnage left over from the national knee jerk reaction to the economy. We listen to the trillion dollars spending promises of our president-elect. We reflect on the times in history when we stood at a similar crossroad as today. To me it is 1976 all over again. This gives me a conservative rush of hope. Jimmy Carter's ego was the cause of his ineffective leadership. Obama has a super sized ego. Carter had the bonus of executive experience that Obama lacks. Will Obama be another Carter? Only time can tell. One thing is true: This conservative is not going to give Obama the same free ride that the press is giving him.
The sun came up this morning my friends. The carnage lays about us. In just over two months we will begin as a nation run by the leftists. We can sit on the sidelines and watch as they attempt to build yet another "Great Society" or we can become an army of informed voices of the conservative movement. We ARE at a crossroad my friends. We now begin the second REAGAN REVOLUTION! The time has come to become an army of the informed. An army of the connected. An army of motivated movers. They will try to enact the un-"fairness Doctrine", we MUST stop it! They will try to take down our conservative leaders through character destruction and slander. We must take them down first! John McCain was the last of his generation. The generation of the gentleman politician. It's a new world. We MUST take the gloves off and HIT THEM HARD!
The sun came up this morning and opened our eyes to the task ahead. The next battle. We must build our army. Please join me in our conservative enclave. Give your feedback. Share your blog address. Share conservative links. Pass this blog on to all of the conservatives you know and bandage their wounds from last nights massacre. Join the fight. We will be victorious! The second Reagan Revolution began at dawn my friends. You are called to be a warrior. Take up your arms.
