Morning in America!

Accountability wins! The referendum on Obamacare, the stimulus, cap-and-trade and the other socialist plans that were put forward by the Democrats rings loud and clear like an alarm clock waking us up from the leftist imposed national nightmare. Pelosi has been stripped of her gavel, Reid has been neutered. Obama has been dealt a blow he may not be able to comprehend.

It's morning in America! President Obama is being served an aromatic cup of eye-opening coffee. But can he smell it? As I write this blog entry I can only guess what President Obama will say at his press conference this afternoon. Last week he proclaimed that this election would be a vote for his policies. I am sure he will call the outcome a failure to get his base out. The problem with that is, his base DID get out and vote. It's those independents that he played moderate to in 2008 and then kicked to the curb when he was sworn in that came out and voted against his policies. And the conservatives who sat out voting for moderate McCain came back to the fold.

As we go forward with control of congress, we can view the slim lead of Democrats in the senate, as well as the continued comments from Harry Reid to remind us of the threat to our freedom, we head into 2012 with a damaged president who can't blame Republicans when his party controls the Senate.

I can't help but to view the Democrats as a party that got greedy and ignorantly overestimated their power. Imagine what today would be like if they had not passed the Obama health care law by ramming it through the congress without even reading it. If they said "This is too important to rush" and spent time explaining each and every facet. Imagine if they only passed stimulus bills for specific needs. Imagine if they refused to take up cap-and-trade because it is too costly at this time. Instead of running away from their votes and their president, they could have invested in state houses, governors seats, secretaries of states and state supreme courts. This would have given them the redistricting power they will need to spread blue across the map. But they were foolish. Lacked the vision to survive. They were greedy with power and banked their future on one election that may have just been a knee jerk reaction to the crash of the housing market.

It's morning in America once again. The millions of grassroots activists who rose up and formed the Tea Party have delivered their message. They have dumped their tea into the Potomac and told Washington "We're not gonna take it anymore!" They have put their bayonets to the backs of RHINO's and "moderate" Republicans and brought them in line. And Now we wait and watch what King Barry will do. The first battle of the resistance has been won. Let the battle for the White House begin!

Hillary in Hiding

Where's Hillary Clinton? With the American voters set to show their displeasure toward an incompetent Obama administration by changing the balance of congressional power, the usually very visable Secretary of state seems to be avoiding the spotlight. Her spokespeople claim she is busy traveling to the other side of the world to finish up paperwork. That sounds as believable as her husbands claim of "not having sexual relations with that woman". Some have the theory that she is "distancing herself" from the failed administration in order to prepare for another presidential run in 2016, possibly as Obama's second term Vice-President. Others think she is preparing for 2012 as a challenge to her current boss. Either way, she should probably work on improving her resume` before re-igniting her presidential ambitions.

Much like her symbolic senate career, which merely was her adding her name to other senators legislation in an attempt to look like a leader, her tenure as Secretary of State is lackluster at best. Not only are Isreali/Palistinian relations worse after her failure to bring the parties to the table, but the U.S./Isreali relations are at their worse. It makes me wonder how an administration who attempted to get the rest of the world to "like us", has succeeded in turning our faithful allies against us. The shoes are flying at Obama now.

Haiti is wondering where all the money has gone. After pledging billions in aid, the U.S. is coming up short when they reach the Carribian shores. And both Hillary and Bill Clinton have stopped "supervising the rebuilding" since the camera's left.

Troops are still flying into Iraq, contrary to the new P.R. machine trying to portray the operations as finished and in peace keeping mode. Don't even mention Afghanistan. Iran is building nuclear power plants and is increasingly becoming a threat as they develop their nuclear capabilities.

...and Hillary does paperwork.

If Mrs. Clinton wants to be the second oldest person elected president, (she will be just a few months younger than Ronald Reagan was if she plans to take office on January 20, 2017), she had better give the American people something other than good intentions. Good intentions may qualify Barack Obama to win a Nobel Peace Prize, but after the past 22 months of the Obama presidency, I don't think the American people are going to be so easily swayed by well written speeches on a teleprompter and rock concert style photo opps.

My theory of Hillary's hiding is simple: She doesn't want to be under the scope like the rest of her party are right now. By hiding until the dust clears, she can then make a discrete exit amidst the refocusing of the cabinet. My guess is she will cite a grueling and exhausting tenure as Secretary of State. She has already starting talking of leaving early. Like rats leaving a sinking ship, I think Hillary may find she leaves with nothing to show, a bit worse for wear and too late to escape the high tide of political change.

The Perfect Prescription for Victory

With all the speculation of whether Republicans will take the House and or Senate in November, we have to look at the big picture. And the fallout from the results.

Let's look at the last time a Democrat president lost both chambers two years after being elected. It gave Bill Clinton the opportunity to play the victim. To blame everything on congress. And it allowed his re-election to be the check and balance the American people prefer. It was the Harry Truman prescription.

Looking forward, I would prefer to see the Democrats lose the house, with Nancy Pelosi having to hand the speaker's gavel over to John Boehner and accept her tenure as a failure. Then, over in the senate, the Democrats hold a razor thin majority, with Harry Reid not returning after losing his reelection bid. This prescription would allow Republicans to block much of Obama's socialist ideas, but not be seen as obstructionist. In order to be seen as progressive, the Democrat led Senate would be forced to compromise with Republicans...against Obama. President Obama would be issuing veto after veto (Making him the anti-progress candidate) and go into the 2012 election with the largest national deficit, massive government increases and, by then, miserably failed attempts to regulate the American way of life.

November's election will be a referendum on the Obama-Reid-Pelosi agenda. The outcome will dictate the way things are done in Washington for the next two years. And it will also create the road to the White House for each party and send a message to the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. It makes me wonder if President Obama is ready for a dose of his own medicine. The American people want a new kind of "change". And the "Hope" this time going is for a cure for the ailing economy and the dependence on 'bailouts' and 'stimulus' packages.

Obamaspeak and the New National Malaise

On the heals of his speech to Kalamazoo high school seniors extolling the virtues of taking responsibility and not blaming others, President Obama headed to the gulf of Mexico for yet another photo-op and a chance to "show the American people that" his "administration is firmly in control of the situation". Which has been followed by his constant attack on BP for not plugging the hole. I'm not quite sure what he is "firmly in control" of, but it's not capping the well. As the President declares gulf shrimp and other seafood safe to eat while walking along a sludge soaked beach, one can already see the Saturday Night Live sketch of him eating a oil soaked shrimp cocktail. Obama follows up this PR blitz with a speech from the oval office, telling the American people that BP "will pay" for this. I'm sure he is hoping it won't cut into their donations to his re-election campaign.

Obama's lack of comprehension of his own speeches seems to be the catalyst of his plunging poll numbers. I guess we can "blame Bush" for this. By comparison, you may not have agreed with everything President Bush said, but you know he stood behind his words and meant what he said.

The man who supposedly won the White House because of his new ideas and speaking skills, is now unable to inspire the American people to get the economy moving because the actions of he and his party display a anti-capitalist arrogance and reckless spending of tax-payer dollars.

When President Obama speaks, we hear echos of Jimmy Carter trying to feign a camaraderie with the average American. America needs inspiration. What we are getting is a single party dictatorship and a shackling of government control. Growth can only happen when there is a freedom to do so. Government mandated growth is a Utopian belief that has never succeeded. And so we have no private sector job growth. No new housing. And the start of our second National Malaise.

Presidency for Dummies

The oil in the gulf keeps flowing and Obama assures us his administration has been in control of the situation from day one. It has now been over forty days. When attempts to stop the oil flow fails, Obama claims BP is in control. Hmmmmm.

The trillion dollar debt keeps growing, yet we still have record unemployment and the Democrats ceremonious commitment to a "pay-as-you-go" policy has proven to be just a catch phrase.

President Obama is sending the National Guard to the U.S./Mexican border. But they aren't going there to enforce federal immigration laws. Apparently they are just going for the photo op.

...and Obama takes another vacation...and plays another round of golf. The President seems to be from that same mentality so prevalent in our society, the people who never take personal responsibility and want all of the glory while spending all of their energy avoiding the hard work.

Barry has always been handed his successes and never had to earn them. Have we ever read of any of his accomplishments? No. Do we have any examples of his pre-presidency leadership? No. Like the Nobel prize, he was given all the accolades for a job he has yet to do. But he speaks well. At least when the teleprompter is working.

Every time a presidential candidate gets the youth of this country out to vote in record numbers, be prepared for a bumper sticker being elected. My experience tells me that experienced leadership counts, not "Kennedy-esqe" images or speeches prepared by a staff of writers. When choosing a leader of the free world, we should not be sold by slogans and pipe dreams of a Utopian society, we should scrutinize the preparedness of the person to handle the unexpected crisis. Candidate Obama never had a 3 A.M. phone call situation to tackle. And apparently, as President, he lets them go to voice-mail.

The Dumbing Down of American Standards

"Hope and Change" seems to have revealed itself to be more than just campaign posters. Since Obama took office over a year ago, we seem to spend a lot of time searching for HOPE. HOPE that the economy will just turn around overnight because we handed out taxpayer dollars to campaign donors and anti-capitalist businesses. HOPE that the very corporations our administration plans to punish with taxes and mandatory health care fees will decided to start hiring full time employees. And HOPE that Iran doesn't really have the nuclear capabilities they claims to have.

The CHANGE is so evident it is blinding. No longer is our sitting president held accountable by the press. He is free to golf as much as he wants while the economy sputters and while oil spills into the gulf of Mexico. He is Free to decided that 9.9% of the population claiming unemployment benefits is acceptable, and blame it on his predecessor. The respectability factor has again CHANGED back to the Clinton standard of profanity laced conversation in the White House, even elevating it to national televised speeches. Biden constantly proves to have foot-in-mouth disease, yet the press ignores Obama's Vice-President pick and continues to attack Sarah Palin. Name calling is totally acceptable in this administration. Especially when it comes to the protesters of too much government waste of tax-payer dollars. CHANGE has come to how the Democratic party and Obama administration views peaceful protester's exercising their constitutional right to show dissent. They call this action "un-American" and "un-patriotic".

In six months we will have another opportunity to HOPE for CHANGE. The press is already dumbing down the outcome by distancing President Obama from the Pelosi/Reid congress. Articles about the "differing opinions" between the White House and congressional Democrats are becoming more frequent. They are throwing around the term "anti-incumbency mood", leaving out the fact that the incumbent party in power is the Democratic Party. And contrary to his popularity with the liberal media, President Obama has lost the support of the independents and is now consistently below 50% approval. Which means just the Democrats approve. Not a prescription for winning an election.

As long as the media and the administration continues to dumb down their standards by attempting to make the unacceptable acceptable, we can look forward to voters replacing "HOPE" with ACTION in November. And the Obama "CHANGE" will be swept away with a National CORRECTION.

Taking the Queen out of Check

Hillary Clinton is tired. She told Esquire magazine that she is feeling the results of too much travel as Secretary of State. Is she showing her age? Lack of stamina? Or is she repositioning herself as the Democrat Party front runner as President Obama alienates more and more of his supporters?

I've said it before and I will keep saying it until time proves me wrong. Don't count Hillary out of the Presidential race just yet. By hinting that she is feeling physically drained, she is signalling the White House that she's not happy. And an unhappy Hillary is a force to be reckoned with. The question remains; will she take herself out of the decaying Obama administration before the November elections so as not to taint herself as a member of the cabinet that Americans revolted against? Or will she wait out the election to see what her next move will be?

Hillary has said she would only serve out one term as Secretary of State. She could now be looking at 2012 as an opportunity to threaten to challenge Obama unless he anoints her as the chosen nominee for 2016. Or, she could be looking at a real challenge to a failed president and an opportunity to appear as the best hope for Democrats in 2012. Or is she possible hinting that she would be less stressed as a Supreme Court Justice? Whichever way you look at it, her timing is curious.

Don't forget that Mrs. Clinton almost made it to the convention in a very hard fought campaign against Obama. She was the front runner for quite a long time before Obama nudged past her. One can't help but wonder if she constantly gets the urge to sound like the Republicans and say "I told you so". Her next move will definitely be interesting. I predict she steps down after announcing that she is suffering from constant exhaustion. A few months later it will be found that she suffered from a curable ailment. And that she needs a few months rest and then will be back to normal. Back to make her move on the political chess board. Back to put king Obama in check.

The Truth Will Out.

When the Democrats screamed that they were being threatened for their 'yes' vote on Obamacare, we waited for the arrests to come. And waited. Finally we have a man in custody who threatened the life of, not only a congressman, but his family. And Republican Congressman Cantor is very grateful to the law enforcement officials who tracked down this violent man. Too bad none of the supposed "teabag extremists" has been identified or found.

To Arms!!!

The will of the people has been silenced. The constitution has been trampled. The free hand of the Republic has been shackled.

This is a call to arms for our conservative and independent citizens. Arm yourselves with your voice. Arm yourselves with your heart. Arm yourselves with your vote. No more being duped by "conservative democrats" or RHINO Republicans. Now is the time to fight for our Liberty. While the media may say "the November elections are a long way off and much can happen between now and then", I just want everyone to remember how much has happened since Obama took office. How much has happened since the Pelosi/Reid takeover of Congress. In just a little over seven months we will have a referendum on our Democracy. Keep the fire going. We will deal these usurpers of our rights a blow like never seen before. We will reduce the Democrats to their smallest minority in history. We must make President Obama wake up on November 3rd with a fear of impeachment. Checks and balances must return to stop the takeover of these socialist who masquerade as progressives. SOCIALISM IS NOT CHANGE! God bless the freedom of the American people as we fight to take back our country.

Obama's Illusions

What happened to “Jobs need to be our first priority”? President Obama seems to have fooled us yet again with another Styrofoam facade. American’s have shown their outrage at the ballot box in three states over his obsession with imposing a government controlled health care system on us. His momentary “I get the message” seemed to be some headway in getting the president to hear the pleas of a struggling nation. But how soon he forgets about us. Instead of discussing solutions to the lack of jobs, he holds a “summit” to give the appearance of being bipartisan on socialized medicine. Fool me once, shame on me, fool me dozens of times….I must be a Democrat.

Where was the President when Harry Reid dumped the bipartisan jobs bill? He was working on his own version of the Senate health care bill. Where was the President when Harry pushed the new paired down bill that didn’t address an extension of unemployment benefits and didn’t meet the PAYGO standard set by Harry, Nancy Pelosi and the President himself? He was making speeches about the need to pass his health care package.

Once again President Obama has arrogantly fed us another line to give the appearance that he understands what the American people want. But it’s just a line. And he just doesn’t get it. Meanwhile, with Nancy and Harry, they are committed to passing a massive, costly health care takeover by whatever means necessary. Imposing their government control on us even at the cost of losing control of congress. What does that tell you? Follow the money and who is going to make it and control it.

Today the President has committed his administration to reducing the number of high school dropouts. A goal that should be and has been set by all presidents. However, when people with high school and college diploma’s can’t find jobs, how do you convince a dropout that things will be any better if they finish high school? It seems to President Obama that “Hope” is just a word printed on his campaign posters.

State of dis-Union

The President has read a very well written campaign speech again, courtesy of his top aides, teleprompter L and teleprompter R. As he eloquently read the words (rehashed from his last two addresses) to congress by his finest speech writers, I get the feeling that nobody has taken the happy rose colored glasses off of his blinded eyes. While the President claims to "know the difficult times of the American people", I can't help but wonder if he knows of our pain while he is body surfing in Hawaii. Or playing 18 holes in Virgina. Does he know what it is like to look for jobs that just aren't out there as he holds his White House cocktail parties? Does he anguish over how to pay the bills as he takes Michelle out for a night on the town, compliments of the American taxpayer? As he addressed congress for the third time, does he really see the anger over his and their wasting tax dollars on no bid government contracts given to Democratic party donors behind closed doors? Does he realize that most of us would be happier to have a job that provides private health coverage, over being unemployed with a government plan...that we are required by law to pay into...even when the money isn't coming in? Does he see the irony in his taxing people that earn over 250k to cover his social programs, while in the same speech, trying to motivate those same people to create more jobs?

As for President Obama's plea for bipartisanship, he should probably ask a non-partisan person what that means. He seems to think it means everyone should follow his misguided path in lockstep. We have yet to see any evidence to show why Republicans agreeing with any of his destructive plans would be better than just saying 'no' and being obstructive. Millions of Americans across the country have risen up to protest in support of putting the breaks on President Obama's programs.

This State of the Union was supposed to be about JOBS. But the jobs won't materialize unless an environment is created free of the fear of massive taxes, government control and government mandates. Jobs won't be created unless consumer spending increases. Again, that won't happen in an environment of fear. The fear of losing ones job, having ones pay cut, or having ones taxes increased to pay for a health care system that mandates fines and fees, created in closed door session and presented in thousands of pages of government lingo and red tape and that few Americans want.

The State of the Union is a state of polarized fear. And while FDR may have claimed that "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself", he didn't know the fear of a nation struggling to keep their heads afloat while an incompetent political party in power puts their personal agendas above doing whats best for the country.

It's the Arrogance Stupid!

As the White House and the Democratic party leaders are spinning their heads trying to make up excuses and find someone to blame for Martha Coakley losing the Senate seat thought to be owned by the Kennedy family, I can give them a one word answer; Arrogance.

First off we have the arrogance of the late Ted Kennedy, who, rather than resign to retire when he found out he had a terminal illness, seemed to believe he was some sort of pope. Had Ted stepped down he would probably have had the ability to choose his own successor. At the time of his announcing he had cancer the Massachusetts electorate was much less volatile. His ensconced choice would have easily been elected. Probably long before Ted expired.

Next, we have the arrogance of Martha Coakley. She felt so confident that the seat was solidly in Democrat hands that she didn't need to campaign. Even as Scott Brown stood outside of factories shaking hands and talking to the people of his state, Martha waited until her 30 point lead evaporated into nothing to hit the pavement. Even now she points the finger at Washington.

And then there is the arrogance of President Obama. Still believing he's been anointed to reinvent government with failed socialist policies, he still can't seem to get the message that three consecutive losses ARE a referendum on his direction. He and his mouthpieces are trying to claim a still angry electorate left over from the 2008 vote. They still don't get the Tea Parties do they?

Of course there is the queen of arrogance, Nancy Pelosi, who plans go ahead with her behind-closed-doors meetings before ramming any kind of expensive health care overhaul package through congress. Nancy is very good at getting others in her party to lay down in front of the Obama bus while she is safe on her San Francisco curb. I wonder how many Dems will be tossed out before they realize their first mistake was making her Speaker. Perhaps her having to handle the gavel to Mr. Boehner will be the sign they need.

The Trouble With Harry

Harry Reid's comments about President Obama during the 2008 campaign as told in the book "Game Change" are no surprise to me. As a Detroiter I see the Reid attitude all the time from the Democrats in our state toward their fellow party members. It's the attitude that 'We'll overlook the fact that this person has no experience or qualifications because they are clean and speak well.' You remember that adjective "clean" don't you? It's why Joe Biden felt Obama was qualified to be president.

What baffles me about the Reid argument is that the Democrats are spinning it to make it look like critics are being too politically correct. They wrote the book on PC and now they are trying to play the other side of the coin. If what Harry said is not a problem then I suggest everyone try this experiment: Compliment an African American by telling them you are impressed with how they can "turn on their negro dialect when they need to". I am sure their reaction will be very telling. Of course, if your a Republican they will probably call you a racist.

As the members of the black congressional caucus put on their best Uncle Tom smiles and proudly defend Massa Harry, we get a realistic look at how the Democrat party works. The party leadership, who propped up a first term senator (who had not done anything but run for office) as a presidential candidate because he was "light skinned", "clean" and could "turn on the negro dialect when he needed to" is now calling in their favor. It's the "You owe us" moment.

I am sure when Harry called President Obama it wasn't to apologize. It was to remind Obama of how much he owed Harry. After all, "A few years ago this guy would have been getting us coffee". (Bill Clinton's words.) The problem with Harry is that he is a party leader who was just saying what the rest of the white members of his party were thinking. But he wasn't smart enough to keep his mouth shut.
